new bts
i have been wanting a bts forever and finally got one yesterday!!! i got it from the Sacramento reptile convention. actually i had been eying it for a week at a reptile shop and they were there at the convention. i thought i would leave it alone for a few days, but all i want is to hold it. i fed it as soon i got home yesterday and it immediately chowed down. i'll post pictures as soon as i can.

it isn't very friendly right now, it just hides all day. it was hissing at me today, which was funny. it was was pretending to be tough hiding under its bedding.
i just found out though that it has mites really bad. i checked it over at the show really well and didn't see any when i bought it, but its infested! the guy i bought it from sold me some mite stuff really cheap, like a couple of bucks.

Very pretty guy! Name: Poseidon? Why? Because he already has a trident! Right on his neck, the trident point up towards the head, with the 2 outside spikes going to the sides. The staff part of the trident goes down his back. There, my suggestion. Cute little skinker. Hope he calms down soon. Keep handling and give him treats sometimes when you take him out, like a snail or fresh fruit. I personally love it when my guys huff, I think it's so cute. Good luck!

i didn't even notice that! i like the name Poseidon. i was also considering the name Peanut Butter because my sister just got a pink corn snake that she named Bubble Gum, and we decided that it's food is now called Bubble Yum
. but nobody else seems to like the name Peanut Butter.
any and all suggestions are welcome please!

My first reaction was eastern, then IJ. Now I've looked hard and I think it' a cross? The anterior legs are clean on an Eastern, his aren't. The eye bands indicate eastern or at least part eastern. The bands do seem to form a bit of an arrow and there's brown spots on the sides, indicating Eastern, but the tail is very long, indicating IJ. My guess will therefor be hybrid, but I'll wait for the experts. He's pretty no matter what he is.
