I'm engaged to someone who went to vet school... I've heard nothing but firsthand experiences from a number of our friends for the past few years.

Also did a report on Whole Foods, myself a few years ago for an ethics class. I'll try to dig it up next time I visit my parents.

Right on! My info on the Super Bacteria comes from friends of mine who are doctors/professors. Apparently there are some wings of certain hospitals that they have completely cordoned off as Biohazard because there are staph and other bacteria that simply will not die. Bleach and other cleaning/dis-infecting agents don't do anything to these "superbugs". They haven't figured out what to do other than completely quarantine the areas.

I asked you to confirm the link between the antibiotics used to treat animals and the superbugs currently affecting humans.

I agree with Steve, commercial "organic" farms can be just as bad as regular ones. Not to mention the added environmental stress of shipping that organic food using extra fuel on those tractor trailors.

Local farms are the best solution.


Too bad as a broke college kid, I'll pay reduced prices for "extra breasts" as SailleSkinklover put it ;)


Either way, I would say real food, pumped full of hormones or not, is better than processed food. Since I have started buying my own food, I've switched to a non processed diet. No white flour, no high fructose corn syrup.

Anyway... once again, prove that the antibiotics used in treating chickens directly affects humans, or bacteria that affect humans. Or for that matter, that there is a quantitative difference in the nutritional value of meat from one source or the other.


Nomad, that's a great diet you're on. Wish I had the willpower to do the same. I just can't do it anymore... I spent years following a vegan diet, these days I eat everything.

Oh, I could never go vegan. I love animal products. In fact, as much as I love animals, I love eating them more.


I've found that just by following this diet (more of a lifestyle), and weight training, I've lost nearly 30 lbs since May. To me, that proves something.

I bought new bbq last night at a home show -- no high fructose. Many people think it's one of the largest reasons America's weight gain shot up beginning int he 80's because that's when it began being used because it's so cheap (corn based).
