Craigslist! And be sure to get temp gun, not a temp gauge. Those needle gauges just measure ambient air right in that spot and aren't even 100% accurate. Go for a temp gun!

My temp gun was about $40 with shipping. That is very not expensive.

I purchased mine from tempgun.com. I am very pleased with it. I got the PE-1 for $25+shipping.

Or the PE mini for 15+ shipping.

I have had both, I like the PE1 better.

I got mine from Tempgun.com, it's not the mini, but it's the small hand-held. Shipping was more for me because of living in Canada, but as I said only about $40. It works great though. I think it's the PE1

Temp guns are a must!

I've got that standard $25 one from tempgun.com -- have had it for years and still working fine. I don't remember, can we change the battery on them?

Zach,

I got my temp gun from the place you recommended and it came with a spare battery. I think that might eliminate the charging option.

Hmmm ... possibly it's because I sprung for the box they sell to put the temp gun in? Maybe the battery comes with the case.

It is. The case has a spare battery included. However, you can buy the battery at a watch store for about $5 - $10.
