What makes you think it is scale rot? It is almost always caused by poor husbandry or keeping things too damp.
Scale rot usually shows as a blisters on the skin, usually on the belly first, and it can sometimes look reddened.
You will need to post a photo before anyone can assist in a diagnosis of the problem Izzy may have. If you are unable, then get on the net and do some research into scale rot, and if you still suspect it is then you need to go see a vet.
Scale rot is very serious. It can kill, as the blisters will burst and infection will set in.
