Issues?
Hey,
I am trying to get Izzy more used to coming around with me more often like when doin errands and stuff.I was wondering if anyone had any advice on things to do and not do to do? like sometimes he'll "pee" on me (just clear fluid) and i try to put him down as soon as possible. Is that the right way to get him used to being out and about with me?
Also does anyone know of any like skink holders? like something that i could have Izzy sit in while he's out with me?I was thinking like a sling or a fanny pack?

Well, I feel that the "peeing' is a defense mechanism. So when they excrete the liquid, they WANT you to put them down. So I feel the best thing to do is to just keep on handling him. Keep a towel or paper towels near by every time you take him out. When you put him back immediately, its like when you take a child to the store and they throw a fit until they get their way. Same with a BTS. Just be a firm "parent" and I am sure the "peeing" will stop with time.
As far as a skink holder, maybe contact Jenn (I believe she makes the Bluey Gear) and see if she can make you something to carry the skink in.

When I take my skink Blue out shopping, I use this http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753365&cp=2767038.2769322&fbn=Taxonomy%7CTravel+%26+Outdoors&f=Taxonomy%2FPET%2F2769322&fbc=1&parentPage=family&keepsr=1
They're made for ferrets and the like, but they work just fine for lizards too.

The Humane Society took Michael Vick's pit bulls, asked for public money to help them, then decided it would be best to kill them... adopt from No Kill shelters http://www.roas.petfinder.com

Trikks originally tried to pee on me whenever I held him, I'd just get a paper towel, clean us both up while still holding him, then continue cuddling. After a few tries, he stopped.

I am currently having this issue with Tybo. He is a naughty skink lol. But I just keep on handling him and he calms down in no time.

It's amazing how much pee a tiny little skink can hold! When Trikks would go on me it would just keep going and going. Like the Niagara Falls of the skink world. I think a main reason Trikks stopped was because he didn't seem to like being cleaned with the paper towel. So not only was he not being put down, but he had to deal with a wipe up. I never did anything but tidy him up, but he didn't seem to like the feeling of having his lower half wiped up.
Silly skink. Both my other skinks tried once or twice to pee on me, but they got the same treatment, and they haven't done it since. They still poo on me if I don't give them enough time to before though.

What kind of skink is Izzy again? If she is getting stressed just being taken out, I wouldn't take her out on errands yet. The extra people and stimulation could be too much for her. My notherns and easterns are great for taking a trip with me but the kei's and Indo don't go any farther then the outdoor pit because they would freak!

I'll second that! MN can get kinda chilly this time of year, however summer is a great time to take them exploring.
