I have used chicken and beef heart for food for Rollie; good stuff, in my opinion, cheap and healthy. Calcium powder, not really necessary unless you're not feeding good amounts of greenery.

actually you talked to my bf at petsmart some while back.. we have a IJ.. and you had a brief conversation with him... and we recently decided to try this method from getting the packs at winco

I actually buy my beef hearts at Winco; I have had good experiences buying meat for there, whether or not it's for me or my pets!

yeah he lurked around here using the caresheet and what not... then decided to join forum.. and we both post on here.. but yeah haha.. we got her a 100 gal tank fixed it up nice and all is going smooth.. she grew from 7 inches to 20 inches from feb 12 to now... and we made sure she had her proper vit and cal because she grew so fast.

Sounds excellent! I'm glad that there's someone in the PetSmart circuit that will help get proper care for these guys. I'm pretty sure it'd be looked down upon by management, but have Zach send him some BTS.net business cards to give to people "under the table," if they buy a BTS from there.

My only suggestion, place the UV lamp on the same side as the basking lamp, because that's where the skink will be exposed and under it most often.

Also, if any sunshine gets through that window, be very careful. If it's north facing, not much to worry about, but window-side setups are generally risky.

I know you didn't post pictures to be critical, but heck, we all care about each other's animals, and would rather be nit-picky than smile-and-nod.

oh yeah thats no problem.. its facing south.. sun barely gets in.. and thats the rare occasion I was letting some air come in.. normally the blinds are always covering it and we manage that. temp stays consistant and its only over there cause i need to light up the other side of cage.. she burriers over there half the time and we take her outside a lot so she gets what she needs haha.. I rather have someone speak up if they think something is going to harm her. then to let her go into ill health

oh and forgot to answer question... we got it on craigslist for 150 (tank+stand) and now he is selling his 50 gal and birdcage on there.. we got so lucky!

i have to boil these things for a bit, just to kill the "bacteria"
my bts eats them but not a fan of them.

I was going to blend them up with greens, and other stuff to make them more appealing.. but I think i will boil them too.. just to be sure.

Ive been feeding chicken hearts and gizzards to bella and she loves them. If they are whole in the same dish as vegetables, she won't eat the vegetables. I haven't tried blending them though.. may have to try that.

yeah thats what I do with most things... i mix greens in the catfood to get her to eat it... sometimes have stuffed greens in whole rasberries.. but she figured out my game.. so i blend it.. and she has no choice. she LOVES fruits, HATES vegitables.. but i dont blame her haha

go4it mate , i feed mine cooked and roar roo meat , they mung into in flat out and chinese food ... i get bucket loads and sort it ... sounds silly 1 billion asians cant be wrong ,, beef, oinions egg omlet,peas , beans ,corn, botchow chicken, ham mine have chinese meal every day wid fresh mango and strawberry nana sweet taties ... add sunflower oil ,,, But the amount would be 400 kilo of the stuff in the big freezer, i used to think no seed and stuff.. mate they eat anything bone marrow .. fur , dog poopies .... mine all so shiney from the olive oil sesame seed oil... ya still tink ise joking LOL believe you me cost me nuthing and the best tucke betwenn here and the rabbit proof fence .. hangs of chicken ... its der best .. my secrets out i nose ya tink iam crazy LMAO ROFLMAooooo
