Humidity question

Well I've had Petri for a few days now. Before I got him I had the cage set up and the humidity rested comfortably at about 32%. The day I got him it went up 20% and is now at 52%. Now, the humidity outside has risen and we keep the apartment open 24/7, so I'm assuming that is the reason. My question is, how do I lower the humidity without boarding up the house and turning on the air (it's still in the 80's here)? I thought about drilling holes in the tank, but I don't know if that will be enough because even when I leave his door open (while I'm handling him) the humidity doesn't change.

Now I know that 52% isn't outrageous, but I want to be on the safe side.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to lower humidity?

I wouldn't worry about 52% humidity unless you notice your skink having problems, which I don't think he will.

Without expensive equipment you'll have to deal with whatever your location has.Be gratefull for the warmth, we only had a coulpe of days that got that hot all year here.

I know blueys don't require alot of humidity but, like Nomad said, as long as you don't notice your skink having problems (I assume respiratory distress) it should be fine.

Yeah, 52% isn't too bad...you could find a dehumidifier if push came to shove.

I think with winter coming, the humidity should drop a bit. I'm just worried for the summer when it's constantly really humid outside, :? . Thanks for your ideas though :D
