I was wondering about the temperment of the Indo's (are they also called Giga's?). They truly are beautiful skinkers... :wink:

Yes, indos are also called gigas, as that is their species name, T. gigas gigas. This also includes the Merauke, T. g. evanescens, and Kei, T. g. keyensis.

Indos are almost all EC or CB (captive born, as opposed to CBB, captive born and bred).

They can be skittish, but are awesome skinks, one o fmy favorite species. They can tame down, but it takes some time.

I have one Indo I spend a ton of time with and love her to death and just bought two baby Indos and I did because I love them so much.I have a Northern but Indo's have captured my heart.

I totally love my Merauke. He's such fun, he's hilarious, and yes, he gets skittish if I don't handle him for a couple of days. But he's incredibly sweet tempered for a wild caught rescue skink. Hes a somewhat picky eater, and he Chuffs and Huffs sometimes, but its no worse than me when I get woken up.
We figure if he went to Hogwarts, he'd be a Chufflepuff. :shock:

Booger is an indo....I love him to death. He was really skittish when I first got him, but he has gotten much better. Chunka is merauke and is also a love. I think they may take a little extra TLC at first, but make awesome pets in the long run

It REALLY depends. The Merauke seem to be so much tamer.

My Sunny is the flightiest one I have. I think he's more Indo than Merauke.

Ya Zach, Sunny was kindof confusing me. He seems to have both Indo and Merauke physical traits, do you think he's a possible cross?
