Thanks...

Ugggghh my mom is driving me crazy!! She is talking about how "2 different sites said northern blue tongues get in excess of 32 inches!". She does this all the time, she hears information from a store or something and believes it until she hears from someone other than me or my friends that it is completely false. She is also "just now realizing" how big blue tongues get. She thinks it is ok when dragons get that big, but she doesn't like it because blue tongues are fat. Parents... what can you do?

Well ... you could stick her in front of the computer with you and go over this site. Show her some adorable pictures and some detailed information. You know ... show her your homework.

Ok... mom has decided on blue tongues. I think it helped that she finally got a mate for her ornate uro, she has been looking for one for months. She found someone who has Irian Jayas for $69 each. So we are getting a sexed pair. I don't have any pics yet, but my mom asked for them just now. So pics on the way. YAY!

How are they sexed? If they were popped, they may have been damaged. If they were sexed by mating or babies, then your good to go. Good luck with the skinkers, just make sure to look into who your buying from, and if possible take a good look at the skinks before you buy.

Unless you want two cages, I would just get a single BTS.

They are adults, so they are sexed by behavior (mating reactions) and sperm plugs. I have cages available for the new arrivals. I can't wait... Can you guys help me with some names? I thought of a name for the female, and my best friends liked it, so it will stick. The female is Lola, but I can't think of a name for the male. Any ideas?

Bah! Jungle fever is fine! In this day and age - I thought we all agreed that segregation isn't the ideal solution.

No I don't, but they are really cool. I only have random species of geckos, bearded dragons, anoles, and uromastyx (and soon to be skinks)
