Calendar Cover Mosaic Update
We had a tie for first place with a narrow margin into third place, so I did mosaics on all three. Now I need the input of the forum again...
Here are the two winning entries (warning...these files are big-you may want to save to your desktop before opening them):
Nippy:

Santos:
http://rabscuttle.com/renee/calendar/20 ... Mosaic.JPG
and here is the third place winner:
http://rabscuttle.com/renee/calendar/20 ... Mosaic.JPG
This is where I need assistance...Nippy and Maya's picture can be done as shown above or they can be done with fewer, but larger pictures (Santos' picture looses too much detail to go different from the above photo). These alternate photos can be seen here:
Nippy:

Maya:
http://rabscuttle.com/renee/calendar/20 ... Mosaic.JPG
What photo do we want to use, and which style? Please give me your input ASAP so I can finish the calendar.

my input, for what it is worth, is to use either the first Nippy photo with smaller inset pictures or the Maya picture with larger pictures. I dont' think that Santos has enough contrast to look as nice as a mosaic (sorry Santos...get your mum to share some chocolate with you so you don't sulk too much).
Any mosaic will look better with more, smaller inset pictures, but if you want to be able to more easily identify the little blueys that make up the big bluey, I think that the Maya photo - being a little less busy and a more simple photo overall - will work best.
I hope I'm not being too confusing.

I agree that the Santos photo, although keel over cute, is hard to see as a mosaic. I personally liked the Maya mosaic with the smaller insets. It was easier for me to make out the bluey. I think the smaller insets made for a nicer image.

I really like the first Nippy picture, or either Maya picture.

Santos is too hard to see, unfortunately. I like the first one of Nippy. The Maya one I almost missed!
The Humane Society took Michael Vick's pit bulls, asked for public money to help them, then decided it would be best to kill them... adopt from No Kill shelters http://www.roas.petfinder.com

Agreed on both....
I like how the white really brights up the bluey, and the side shot really makes the tongue distinctive.
I third what Reptileking said.

I like the small tiled Maya.
I spent too much time looking for my pics in all the smaller pics. I think I saw Jubby once, but that could've been wishful thinking.
Out of interest, did you mosaic any of the other pics, just to see what they might've looked like?
