Hi Colin

Did your orange one develop the colour later or was it born that way?

The one on the avatar was like some of these when it was little,as they get older the black gets shiny looking and the colour develops,if the babys have a lot of bling (brightness) to them theyll generally be good adults.

Thanks for your comments, actually the year as a whole was not good with the very wet weather weve experienced etc,one large female blotched died along with several young while giving birth much like geoff gates female last year.Ide find odd single big babys and ide see a female struggling for a few days etc.My worst blue was when i found a baby ide suashed accidentally between sheets of iron and i trodd on one also. :(

Awesome Babies! Love the red on the head! ;) That is a nice trait to keep around! :) They almost look like fake "eyes" on the top of their heads! Love it!

They're the most beautiful of skinks. I still marvel at the two I got off you a few years ago. They look absolutely magnificent in the sunlight just after sloughing and very pretty at any other time.

saddened to hear about the loss of one of the females. It's hard to watch 'em and wonder if they're having a problem giving birth and yet at other times I've seen them produce 6 or more in less than an hour with no issues what so ever.

What's the number of blothchies in your collection now Colin. Adults females? Adult males? neonates and juveniles?
Geoff.

Yeh i wasnt happy about the female dying and there was young born dead bt the looks of things and a lot of yolks like yours geoff, then ide find really big single babys here and there,i think the one having the big babys was the female that had just 3 or four big ones about two years back. One male died, the one with the red head, and some from last years young ones,so they are down from last year and ive got less young ones born alive.Theres two adult males and several females but not all breed for whatever reason, then theres four yearlings that look like little adults .:)
