My New Kimberly Northern

Postby Blotch » Sun Feb 24, 2008 8:13 pm

Hey all!

I decided to weigh and measure The new addition, so here are it's stats:

Age: 1.5 months (The guys said almost 2months - so i'm rounding it off to 1.5 to be safe).
Weight: 80g
SVL: 15cm (6 inches)
Total length: 25cm (9.76 inches)

Next, I decided to take it outside for some sun. It hadn't pooped yet, but after 5 mins in the sun it decided to drop off some doody that was the size that some of my other much larger blueys drop. Also, there was some sand in with it's poop from where the guy kept them. Good example of why sand aint a good substrate.

Here's the poop!

And here's some shots of my Kimberly Northern baby!

thx - it's Leucistic! :P or Hypermelanistic! :P

Just kidding - but it's definately light in colouring - compared to the rest of its siblings it was clearly the lightest.

This reminds me of Sammy as a baby. Remember the one you were commenting on how light and almost eatern she looked as a baby? I mean this is definitely northern, but I see some similarities.

wanna post the pic again? I'd love to compare the 2.

I called up my sister so she could bring over her good camera so i could take some sweet shots of the kimbo. I really wanna show how you can already see the speckles after only 1.5months.

This is the thread with some Sammy pics, where members were commenting on her neat colors/patterns. She's a camera-ham. Very pretty. I like her, and your new guy.

'cept you can't see the speckles in my pics - they are there - just paint - hence the need for my sis to bring over her camera. Fingers crossed she comes over this arvo.

They both just seem to have a certain something. Maybe I can figure out why your Kimbo reminds me of Sammy as he grows up. Maybe it's just their light colors and how pretty they look on camera.

As My Kimbo grows, it's gonna get speckly. They are already on the head and slightly through the body. I can't wait to see how prominant they become!

What color do the speckles usually come up as? Seems like your little guy is going to be very light, can't wait to see pictures as he/she grows! :)

from what i've seen with Kimbos they are black speckles. I got this one cuz it was so light and i figured the speckles would look awesome and not just blend in like they would on a darker specimen.

The portholes are a very pale yellow, I'm sure they'll darken up as it grows, but i'm really impressed with it. It's got a great temperment, it's beautiful to look at, and it ate when it came home. It didn't eat last night though :( maybe tonight?

There will be heaps of pics of this guy - and If I get his parents - there will be plenty of babies!
