Nail clipping

Postby The Londoner » Mon Feb 25, 2008 9:40 am

Hey everyone,
how long do you leave it between clipping your bts nails ? cause I cut my Ocho's when I first started handling him as the were like mini razors and so long but they are growing fast again and just as sharp ouch by the way he really did'nt mind me cutting them he was such a good boy. Sue

Nail clipping is a nightmare for me.... but i offten find Lynyrds nails are like razors but if you have enough rocks etc it should keep them a lil more blunt/dull.

Clipping is a nightmare for all involved here, so I try to keep an emory board handy here for when he's cruising around on me.. just randomly do a nail here and there and he doesn't get as stressed out. I also keep a few rocks in his viv ...and his ceramic tiles help, as well.

We tried clipping and his little toes are just tiny, so he and I both were a little traumatized, I think

They are all different in regard to speed of nail growth. When they start to effect the shape of the toe you have to cut them. If Ocho doesn't mind give a mani/pedi whenever they begin to look a bit long. I like the toe here toe there method. Clip a couple ... wait till tomorow.

You think i could just get away with filing them down instead of actually clipping them?? His tiny toes...just thinking about it makes me half traumatized >XD

I have tried the filing thing with Tattoo several times but with no success. His toes are so tiny and not stiff enough to get a good grip. Maybe when he is full grown it will work. I keep trying. :D

you could just clip the little sharp bit - that way the nail won't bleed and your bluey won't really feel anything.

im looking into geting this "Excavator Clay Burrowing Substrate" made by Zoomed, but i remember zach saying it was a pain to clean...

The idea is they burrow into it, thus dulling the nail making it almost unessacery to clip them (apologies for bad spelling, its not my forte')

I thought you moulded that stuff how you wanted, and it sets hard, the problem comes when it gets wet again, it goes soft/pliable

I usually clip Bubba's nails in the morning before he has had a chance to warm up. That way he doesn't squirm around as much. I just use human nail clippers.

I did this inside the house cause it's to cold outside and it worked brilliant thanks it was so much less stress for me and Ocho seemed to have fun.
