Can anybody tell me how big their Northern was at 10~12 months?

I want to get a more accurate age for Duke because I think he's younger than I assumed.

I think someone else's bluey was 13 inches at 9 months so I'm not sure if my bluey's just a runt or he's actually really 6-8 months old =3

He's 11 inches now...

He was 10 inches a little over a month ago.

Chances are your skinker was born May-June of 2007. That was when most BTS were born. As for size it all depends on genetics, feeding, and brumation. For example my 2 tannies were the same size when I got them in September, but now Wocket is many inches bigger, and weighs almost 3x as much as Trikks. If the skink is healthy, size and weight aren't big deals.

Cute pictures. Duke is an adorable skinker. Where did you get him from?

BTW: Are those snails alive? Normally when I see snails they're not just inside the shell, they're out and moving.

I got Duke from a guy that has a business called Sunshine Serpents. I found him because ReptileKing showed me the ad and his info on kingsnake ;D

The vet said he was a very good weight for his size so I'm not too worried.

I just thought that maybe he was younger than I thought because he's barely 11 inches. ^_^

GROW DUKIE GROW!!! ;O

oh, and the snails are alive. ^_^

I did a water change before I took the picture so they're all in their shells. ;D

One seems to have magically disappeared though...;_;
what a waste of a snail...I think I might've thrown him out with the greens...oops~

11 inches? How old is he? When did you get him?

Im interested in this as My Kimberly northern is just over 2 months and it's already 12 inches long (tail included).

I got him Feb 19

And I don't know how old he is except that he's under a year...

Everyone else's blueys seem to be larger than mine at 9~10 months so I'm not quite sure what to make of it ;P

umm just what i feed my other guys, Cat food mixed with Corn, Green beans, carrot, Mint peas, and sometimes some sweet potato. Lately it's has a couple of feeds of just cat food cuz i've been lazy. I Also add some calcium powder to every 2nd or 3rd feed to be safe.

By the way - the kimbo has NO UV lighting. Just a heat lamp.

He seems to be about the same age as my BTS, Rocket. I got Rocket January 25th and he was about 3-4 months old then. He's also about 11 inches long now. My guess is that your skink was born sometime in September or October, so he's probably about 5-6 months old. Keep in mind this is my first baby skink and I'm just guessing at Duke's age by what I've been told about mine.

rocket - that's what i kinda worked out too last night. I was going off the old post from when raven got him. Out of curiosity, can you 2 do me a favour and measure both the tail and the Snout to vent length seperately? I'd be interested to see if my bluey has an exceptionally long tail compared to the normal northerns.

I'll measure Duke as soon as he finishes digesting ;3

I went and got him a fuzzie today...

I've never seen him move so fast!! >_<
Was the KOOLEST thing I ever saw!~
Wish he could've killed the little guy faster though...The fuzzie was halfway down his throat and still alive...;P

hahaha my kimbo is:

Snout to Vent: 7inches

Tail: 5inches

Interesting - I wonder if Kimberlies naturally have longer tails? I'd love to compare this with an Aussie Northern owner - see if there's much difference.

Thanks for getting those measurments for me!

I actually think my skink's tail looks a little short ;D

I guess I'll go with what you and rocket said and say my skinky is ~6 months instead ~1 year

I'll have to tell me vet >_<
When I filled out the info sheet I put 10~12months...

Maybe I should feed him more since he's younger than I thought.

I've been feeding him every 4 days~

I feed Rocket everyday, and he eats about three quarters of it. He's not overweight either. I'll probably start feeding him less in a few months.

I'll get the measurements tomorrow when he's up and about. :)
