BTS trying to escape?

Postby Jabbytheadventurer » Wed Jul 24, 2024 11:49 am

Hey there! New member here finding all this info overwhelming. I have a 3 month old NBTS who seems to be frequently trying to escape and nuzzling the glass. I have done everything I can think of. I have material on the inside preventing his reflection that covers every but the doors. The temp is correct on both sides and there are plenty of hiding spots in his enclosure. I don’t know what to do now. I’ll open the tank while he’s doing it and he’ll just stare at me. Sometimes he’ll even climb on my hand and climb on me for 10 minutes before trying to go back into the tank. I am at a loss and don’t know if this is normal.

Perfectly normal, at least he's not a shy one! Sometimes, well, they just do that. I've got 10 year old northerns that still do it occasionally.

Update, he’s still doing it and beginning to damage his front nose scale. It’s not bleeding yet but I can tell it’s close to bleeding. I know this is a bad picture but it’s the best I could get.
