yeah, like that. Sometimes they can literally get all the way up to their back legs onto the side and so all the weight is at the base of the tail. Mine all do it, or have done it, but have never become dented. Maybe it's a combination of doing that and poorish diet (picky eater perhaps) and lack of good UV???
In regards to the paper around the tank, my shingleback actually tries to climb the plants on the paper
Keep that in mind, because I'm thinking I might have to change it to something more plain. He's such a *twig sometimes.

seems ok...
Bowie had his Xray and Vet checkup today, vet said he is ok. Not an MBD as i suspected first, not even a fracture of some sort, his reflexes are good, tuns fast and walks ok. hinds legs are functioning very well. VET said maybe the lower part if the spine is really flexible. I have pics and will post it later.
still need opinion guys.
thanks.

Yeh mate, I think they need to be spending a good part of the day doing it constantly to develope the dent. Mine will try and climb the walls to show he wants out, but gives up if he thinks no ones watching

Vet pics LOTS of PICS DUW
following are Bowie and Boris' vet visit. My vet is one of the leading wildife vet here in the Philippines.
he says thay he is fine, he made some tests turning him and checking if he will have a hard time turning again but Bowie turned like a champ and moving like a pro. he also said that if he broke his back he may be showing weakness and also dragging his legs.
Is it just a flexible spine?
the next set of pics is Bowie being cute and XRAY pics, if you guys are wondering whats the animal beside him its an Umbrella Cockatoo, he shared the XRAY with the bird, juts to save on cost. hehehe
well, im still confused. Boris my IJ didnt have anything like that when he was growing up. He walks fine and climb very well.
is he really ok?
sorry about the tons of pics
thanks guys!

Well now we see where it's from: People poking him!
That picture made me smile. Maybe he's been doing yoga and getting flexible? He's very cute. Hope all ends up well.

Drew, first off, thanks for all the pics! He's a really cute little skink! ( so just know you can never post too many pics, no need to apologize!)
I'm sure he'll be fine, just take him out often and let him climb over rocks and logs and stuff. It'll build up his muscles.
Cool xray pics by the way! Pretty funny that the vet's hands are in the picture though.
So yeah, it looks like he's got a slight dent frpm all the poking!
(I love his back legs though!)
