Are you kidding Andrew? I'd only chastise you if you had used a cell phone to take the pictures. In case you DID use a cell phone, I'm impressed!
Why are you lonely Andrew? You have a whole forum to shoot the poop with.

You've got that right! Their eyes turn almost black -- in fact, they look pitch black from just a foot or two away. Some of Renee's pics of Tarzan show this perfectly.
Andrew, the mom looks just like TQ.

Thanks Zach - I take that as a high compliment. TQ is a beauty!

Ugh. What a year.

Hi again Kyle,
Man i totally appreciate you guys for always being here for me.
I just meant that everyday I work with the reptiles it's a lonely job. Many hours just spent alone without anyone to really talk to physically.
I use to spend a lot of time talking with Ray while I worked but I haven't had time to do that so I definitely miss speaking with him. He's the best.

It's strange, I totally interpreted that as, "Gosh Kyle, since you'll be in the bay area around the end of August, why not come by and see my magnificent collection?"
(Which then I'd have to visit Zenny too...)
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Ray's quite the guy to shoot the poop with, I'll agree. Well, it may not be much, but we're here to hang out with you Andrew.

Gorgeous babies Andrew! Every year I see all these babies and it makes me wish I would have bred Chunka and Mr.Booger so I'd have babies too, but I always chicken out when breeding season rolls around. Maybe next year. Do you think I'd have an easy time selling Chunka/Booger babies?

Thanks everyone for the support.
The babies seem to be doing fine. A few died after a few days but that's to be expected from the hardship the females went through this year. But all the rest seem to be very stable.
The babies will be ready for shipping in a week or so.
I just can't stomache how these other guys who get babies SHIP them out RIGHT out of the womb. They don't wait. They don't care and they risk the life of the newborns just to save a buck.
I also want to insure these guys survive and do well with my customers so I do make them wait. I really want my lil babies and the customer to be totally happy and healthy. I could just see how it could go if i did it like most of the breeders out there who send out a baby skink; the new owner takes care of it for two weeks and then it dies for no apparent reason. The new owners are stuck paying for a dead skink and has also grown attached to it. Now it's dead and guess what, the new owners have to end up buying another one. Maybe it turns them off to reptiles; that's truly sad. Some companies have a decent guarantee but many don't. Also look at the fine print. They KNOW they have imports or potentially unhealthy animals so they only guarantee something so far. Price isn't everything especially for something like a pet.
Sorry for the rant -
Anyways - thanks again for looking at my site and sending me suggestions and comments. I have a few articles I need to put out but I've been so busy working on all them that I'm finding how incomplete these articles really are. I'm just not pleased with any of them to post.
Best regards,
Andrew

100% agreed -- it's definitely important to hang on to them for a little while to make sure they're eating well, healthy, used to handling, etc. Of course with the Tanimbars, handling will likely make little different to their temperament early on!
And yep, companies know they have unhealthy imports, and the only guarantee is often: "Live Arrival Guarantee". So, as long as the thing is not dead upon arrival, they're safe.
