mine are outdoors and so happy as often as poss
they love nuzzing through the logs and grass ..happy skink = healthy minds :drool:

Ahh first grade.. fun stuff. I think I would rather have 2nd though, that's what I student taught and it was a lot of fun.

Russ, I've taught second grade as well but first grade is my favorite. There is just something about the amount of knowledge the aquire in such a short period of time and the crack me up!

I'd last about half an hour at best in a child's classroom before I wanted to hang myself. It's why I think teachers need to get paid more. It's seriously important work that requires a lot of patience and skill to be good.

My mom taught first grade at a private school for 15 years...On my first year working full time during college at PetSmart, I made more money then her :( It really is a sad thing.

Most public schools, at least in the northeast, once you get tenured you are set for life....we had teachers in grade school making over 125k after 20 years.

Well Nevada teachers get treated like crap, so good teachers get better jobs and bad teachers stay put, and they wonder why Nevada churns out so many dropouts, addicts and trashies.

Want me to start listing?!?!?!?! I don't know any teachers personally where I would feel comfortable and ask them how much they make. I do know that they put WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY to much emphasis on the AIMS testing, which is the standardize testing on math and reading. They do almost no history and science, forget about music and art, and the schools are still failing the AIMS testing, even with the amount of work they put into it.

Its all because of pressure from the Gov't. Teachers are having less and less freedom in the classroom these days.
